How to choose a Vidmar shelf-door cabinet

Vidmar shelf cabinets store the things that don't fit in a drawer, bulk consumables, PPE, large fixtures, oversized tools, fluids, kits and assemblies. The five cabinets on this page are shelf-door cabinets with hinged doors: the doors swing open about 180° (depending on adjacent obstructions), giving you full visibility and unobstructed access to every shelf at once. Faster to find what you're looking for; plan for aisle clearance equal to the door width. If your aisles are too tight for a door swing, Vidmar also builds sliding-door variants, ask us and we'll quote one.

Width follows the same pattern as Vidmar's modular drawer cabinets:

• Standard width (30″), the SD340 eye-level and SD175 bench-height cabinets, for a single-aisle work cell or a row alongside a workbench.
• Small version (22½″), the SVD34, for tight rooms and column gaps where a standard cabinet won't land.
• Extra-wide (45″) and double-wide (60″), the XWD3402 and DWD3402 with double doors, for crib storage, where you're moving large boxes or stacks of consumables in and out frequently.

On the single-door cabinets, pick the hinge side on the card, right-hinged or left-hinged, so the open door doesn't block the adjacent bench or aisle. Shelves are adjustable steel rated to 400 lb on standard pitch; you can pull a shelf and reset the spacing in a few minutes. For PPE walls and consumables in plastic totes, drop the shelves close together; for large fixtures, give yourself the headroom.

Every cabinet comes in your choice of 8 standard powder coat colors: Bright Blue, Dark Blue, Vidmar Green, Red, Medium Gray, Vidmar Gray, Olive Drab Green, and Black. Pick the finish on each card, product photos show Dark Blue. Vidmar's full standard palette (catalog p. 120) and custom colors are available on request at no upcharge.
